• CAN ANYBODY RUN?

For most people the answer to that is "yes". With proper instruction and a step-by-step approach, the majority of people can take up running as a leisure sport. For those that have sustained an injury in the past or have medical problems that could lead to injury (i.e.: high blood pressure or diabetes), you should approach any new physical exercise program with caution. If you are not sure, please consult with your physician before starting a running program.

  • WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF CROSS TRAINING?

Cross training is important when it comes to avoiding injury. When an individual over works their body by repeating the same activity over and over without any rest, they are setting themselves up for an injury. Cross training helps build up the muscles not normally used with your main sport, while giving those muscles normally used, some "active rest."

  • WHY ALL WOMEN CLASSES?

I have found in my years of instructing fitness classes, as well as sport-specific training, that co-ed classes or teams intimidate a lot of women. Therefore, they have just avoided exercise all together. By offering a fun, all female* atmosphere in my classes, I feel it opens the door to women who have stayed away from fitness in the past. * I now offer various co-ed classes as well as the all women classes.

  • IS BOOT CAMP FOR EVERYBODY?

Absolutely! My Boot Camps are designed to be accessible to everyone. Everyone works at their own pace. Whether you're a beginner or advanced, everyone works as hard as they feel comfortable and progresses as they wish. There aren't any dance steps to learn, and the class changes a little every week so that you never get bored.

  • IS IT A GOOD IDEA TO EXERCISE OUTSIDE IN THE WINTER?

Yes! Even the women in my classes who start out hating winter, come to appreciate the beauty and challenges that it has to offer. Obviously you need to dress appropriately for the temperatures and the terrain. Also, you need to be flexible on your goals and fitness expectations during the winter. These types of topics are covered during the question/-stretching portion of each outdoor class.
